Example circumstance:
I've uploaded house.obj and car.obj to an asset called "Home", now I want to delete the car.obj from "Home". Currently, you can hide the contents of car.obj but the data is still part of the asset and may negatively impact load times. A workaround is to upload house.obj as a new asset, but all the view settings, callouts, and measurements from "Home" would need to be manually recreated in the new asset. And the new asset would have a new URL.
