When measuring an area by outlining it (for example a roof section), the properties window shows the total perimeter and the area, but not the length of each side. Listing every segment length there would make it easy to read off all the dimensions of the outline in one place.
A collapsible list of segment lengths, closed by default, would keep the properties window short for measurements with many points.
